Punahou Class of 1959

40th Reunion Photos Scrapbook

Friday night - Aloha Reception at the Pacific Club

Friday evening we all gathered at the Pacific Club. The location and decorations were gorgeous. The background Hawaiian music by Vicky and her group was wonderful. The bar service was outstanding. The food was "onolicious". The evening festivities included Harlan as MC, Dean Tom Metcalf, a special Mahalo presentation to Andre for his generosity to our class and to Punahou over the years, Ray's presentation of his generous scholarship for the Class Gift, the surprise presentation of the "Mahalo Gift" to Diane for 40 years of service to our class, and the gorgeous hand crafted leis lovingly made by the committee for the Mainland folks. All of this plus the perfect weather and the Punahou '59 Aloha Spirit that overflowed all evening long combined to make this Friday evening at the Pacific Club an occasion to remember and cherish for our lifetimes.

The main Reunion and Class Gift Committees gather on the stage before all of the grateful classmates. Roy Imai, Bob Akinaka, Diane Devereux, Clayden Jim and Harlan Cadinha, our heartfelt Mahalo's to you for leading the reunion committee for the best reunion yet.

Harlan helps Diane open her special Gift from her classmates, a beautiful set of Irish Waterford Lismore pattern crystalware (goblets, wine decanteur and salad bowl) as our mahalo for 40 years of hard work on our behalf as class correspondent, reunion co-chair for so many reunions, and official "meeter and greeter" of classmates returning to Hawaii over the years. Jon recalls quotes from many of the classmates who so generously responded to the call for Diane's Gift. Extra moneys received funded free T shirts and Commencement CD's for all reunion committee members plus $1,000 to the Punahou Class of 1959 Gift Fund in Diane's name.

Our Class Dean Tom Metcalf receives an introduction by Harlan and a lei and a big Aloha hug from Diane.

Bob and Diane toast their years together drinking champagne from their new crystalware goblets.

Diane and Jon model the official reunion "T" shirts in front of the buff and blue cake Bob presented to Diane for her birthday the next day.

Vicky's group played beautiful Hawaiian background music all evening.

Midgi and other committee members can now finally enjoy the reunion events after so many months of careful planning.
