Please take a minute to review the ten helpful hints below.
After you are done viewing a Section, click on your browser
'Back' <== button at the top left of the screen to return to the index to select another Section to view.
To print hard copy of any one scrapbook including all photos and text in that one section; 1) place the arrow anywhere on the brown background and left click. 2) click on 'File' at the top left. 3) (if IE) click on 'Print', or 4) (if Netscape) click on 'Print Only Selected Frame' and then click on 'Print' if Netscape.
To save a copy of a photo from the Internet to your own PC, place your cursor anywhere within the photo border, right click on your mouse, and specify the directory where you want the photo to be stored on your hard drive. If you are saving a lot of reunion photos, you might create a special 'Reunion" directory ahead of time and store them there for easy recall. (Photos and images will be in either .jpg or .gif formats). Then clicking on the photo filename in your directory from your Explorer will call the photo viewer automatically and display the photo. You can also attach the file as an email attachment and email it to someone.
To insert a copy of a photo into a Word document, put the arrow within the borders and right click. Click on Copy. Open a Word document and click on Paste.
Scroll up and down the Index on the left. Click on any subject of interest to you. The index color changes from light to dark blue after you view each section to remind you which sections you have not visited yet.
You can adjust the letter size for your reading comfort. For MS Internet Explorer, click on
View and then Fonts and then Smaller to set the size to the next smaller level.
Branches to other web sites (URL's) on the Internet can be taken by clicking on the line item where a small hand appears. After you are done viewing the other web site, click on your browser
'Back' <== button at the top left of the screen to return to our '59 Web Site.
When you click on a scrapbook, the text downloads first and then the photos load next. While you are waiting for the much slower photos to fill up each frame, scroll down and read the text first. The photos will continue to fill up as you read the text.
Photographs and music can take a minute or two to load over the Internet depending on the speed of your modem, so please be patient your first time through the material. Return visits to the material the same day or later are much quicker as the information is already stored on your own local PC and will be displayed immediately.
To copy any portion of written text from the web site into your own word processor, just highlight the area you want to copy, then click on Edit and Copy. Go to your Word Processor document and click Paste.
This web site will work fine with both Internet Explorer and Netscape. The only difference is that picture frames appear in colors in IE and in silver in Netscape.
And finally, if you get stuck or have any problems, just ask the nearest kid. They all do this stuff in school and at home every day. It is us older folks who have some learning to do. So just relax and enjoy the visit. And come back often.
