your own Health and School Kits to the children of
Iraq
Your
congregation or group can help the children of Iraq.
Put
together CWS "Gift of the Heart" Health Kits
and School Kits to help meet the day-to-day needs of
Iraqi children.
In Iraq right now, simple health and
school items are in short supply and may become even
harder to get in the weeks and months ahead. Children, always the
most vulnerable, may be the ones to go without. As
part of our commitment, the Bay Area interfaith group "For the
Children of Iraq" is partnering with Church World
Service to deliver urgently needed supplies.

One hand towel
One washcloth
One comb
One metal nail file or nail
clipper
One bar of soap (bath size)
One toothbrush
One tube of toothpaste (4-7
ounces)
Six band-aids
Seal all items in a one-gallon Ziploc plastic bag.

One pair blunt scissors
One 30 centimeter ruler (12½)
One pencil sharpener
Six new pencils with erasers
One large eraser
One box of 24 crayons
Pads or notebooks of ruled paper
approximately 8½" x 11", containing 150-200 sheets of paper
Twelve sheets
of colored construction
paper
One cloth bag, approximately
12" x 14"with cloth handles and a closure (Velcro, snap,
or button)
Pack the above items in
a cloth bag and
secure the contents with the closure.
Bags for
the school supplies will be supplied upon request and
will be available at the collection gathering points
in Marin on August 30th and at the San Francisco,
Walnut Creek and Burlingame picnic sites on August 31st.

Delivery:
Please
plan to bring your Health Kits and School Kits to one
of the three Bay Area community picnics
on the 31st of
August.
Volunteers/groups will gather and take the Kits to St. Pauls Episcopal Church,
415 El Camino Real, Burlingame, CA, on
Sunday, August 31, 4-8 PM.
After August 31st
all Kits must be shipped
prepaid to: Church
World Services: Brethren Service Center Annex,
601 Main St. P.O. Box 188, New Windsor,
MD 21776-0188
If you are packing a quantity of
Kits, provide the name, address and phone number of the group sending the Kits
and the count of each type, and include it
in the top of the box before sealing. (Max. box weight: 35
lbs.)
Completed Health and School Kits
should be packed in boxes and secured with packing
tape.
Clearly mark the outside of the
box with the contents, e.g., "10 Health Kits and
12 School Supplies Kits."
Please do not include messages or
decorate your Kits with religious symbols. The Kits
are shared with people based only on need,
regardless of religion. Thank you!
